Message from AIC Director

In pursuit of Asian MOT research / education platform

  • matsuura.jpg
  • AIC was established in 2015, as a strategic auxiliary organization to the Graduate School of Innovation and Technology Management (YUMOT), with the goal of being a hub of management of technology (MOT) research and education in Asia by exploring collaborative network among leading universities in this region, especially in ASEAN.

Our partner universities and AIC formed Asian MOT Consortium (AMC) and have worked together in achieving the goal. The first phase of AIC project terminated in 2019 had pursued to share the knowledge and insights among AMC members and build a foundation for solid cooperation, such as the development of joint research laboratory for research as well as that of joint degree program for education.

AIC believes ASEAN is the next "hot spot" of innovation bolstered by the strong economic momentum. Leveraging on the foundation we had built in the former project, AIC aspires to implement practice-oriented research on MOT activities in reality, of which we call Project Based Action Research (PBAR), in ASEAN as a field by research groups consisting of talented researchers from AMC member schools. Meanwhile, COVID-19 accelerates the transition to ubiquitous innovation in open setting. It brings about a challenge in coupling data from physical contact or field work with that from data analysis to address MOT problem. AIC prepares a wide range of data for this purpose.

AIC together with AMC is committed to offer grounded managerial insights beneficial to organizations and individuals setting out to innovate.
